Next-generation British Airways lounges open in Miami and Dubai
British Airways has unveiled its next-generation lounge design with the opening of new facilities at Miami International Airport and Dubai International Airport on 10 October 2025. These lounges are the latest milestones in the airline’s £7 billion transformation programme, which includes recent upgrades at London Gatwick, Lagos, Singapore, Seattle and Washington D.C.
For UK-based business travellers, these new lounges offer enhanced comfort and convenience during international travel.
Miami
The new British Airways lounge at Miami International Airport spans some 13,000 sq ft and is the largest lounge outside of London that the airline wholly operates. Located in Terminal E directly above its departure gate, the design marries British originality with Miami’s Art Deco architectural spirit and the city’s light and vistas — large windows allow sweeping views over the apron and sky. Featuring five distinct zones - from focus pods and a lowered central lounge to main dining space and private partitions - the layout is crafted for versatility, allowing guests to shift naturally between work, relaxation and dining. Two shower suites and lively, colour-striped washrooms, inspired by classic deck chairs, offer refreshing facilities for those changing time zones.
At its heart sits a striking full-service bar, positioned deliberately before the glass frontage to flood the area with natural light. Expert bartenders will prepare classic and signature cocktails - for instance, the lounge’s own “Prickly Margarita” - alongside a curated selection of local ales and spirits. The culinary offering is served from a restaurant-style kitchen: locally sourced dishes with a British twist, such as papaya and lacinato kale salad with toasted coconut or seared South Florida flounder, feature on the menu. For First travellers, the exclusive Concorde Dining Room offers an à la carte menu including Wagyu beef strip loin and roasted diver scallops, complemented by Champagne and English sparkling wine.
The Miami lounge, spanning 13,000 square feet, is the largest British Airways lounge outside London and features a full-service bar, à la carte Concorde Dining Room, and five distinct zones for relaxation, work, and dining.
Dubai
The newly opened British Airways lounge in Dubai’s Terminal 1 occupies nearly 5,800 sq ft and blends a contemporary British design philosophy with the rich architectural traditions of the UAE. Local contractor Al Tayer Stocks helped bring the space to life, incorporating sweeping arches, patterned metal panels, mirrored walls, and artisan finishes such as fluted marble to balance warm hospitality with modern sophistication. A central full-service bar acts as a focal point, and lighting and mirrored surfaces have been used thoughtfully throughout to imbue the lounge with a sense of openness and drama. The ‘look-up’ moment in the main dining area features a chandelier and mirrored ceiling, embedding the iconic BA speedmarque above.
The dining experience in Dubai reflects both regional and British influences. The self-serve area presents Arabic breakfast items, mezze, cakes and cheeseboards, while the bar pours premium Champagnes, English sparkling wine, and crafted cocktails such as a “Dubai Chocolate Martini” and Bucks Free Fizz. Tea and coffee are also thoughtfully served, with Coffee Planet (a UAE premium Arabica brand) and Birchall (BA’s global British tea partner) featured. First-class guests may enter via a dedicated entrance to the Concorde Dining Room, where a fusion menu offers Middle Eastern dishes (such as Arabic mezze and Umm Ali) alongside British original signatures such as the Concorde Wagyu burger and Scottish smoked salmon.
The Dubai lounge, located in Terminal 1, offers nearly 5,800 square feet of space with design elements inspired by local architecture, including fretwork patterning and arches.
Both lounges provide amenities such as shower suites, premium menus and dedicated spaces for First customers.
Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, said:
“We’re thrilled to be unveiling our new design concept with new lounges in both Miami and Dubai. These unique spaces have been created with our customers in mind and are the next step in our extensive lounge transformation plan. Whether they’re looking to relax, dine, work or enjoy a drink at the fully staffed bar, there’s something for everyone.”
Paul Baker, Sales Director of Global Travel Management, commented:
“These new lounges reflect British Airways’ commitment to enhancing the travel experience for business travellers. The modern amenities and thoughtful design elements provide a comfortable and efficient environment for our clients during their international journeys.”
These lounge openings are part of British Airways’ broader strategy to elevate its premium offerings and provide a consistent, high-quality experience for travellers worldwide. The airline plans to continue this transformation with additional lounge openings and upgrades in key international airports.
