Lufthansa Group introduces new personalised premium menus for business travellers
A new personalised premium menu plan, called “Culinary Journey”, has been launched across Lufthansa Group’s airlines, offering business travellers greater meal choice and control during their flights.
For UK-based business travellers who frequently fly short-, medium- or long-haul, this is particularly relevant - the ability to pre-order meals and drinks aligns with the demands of corporate travel for flexibility, consistency and predictability.
The programme, available on Lufthansa Airlines, SWISS International Air Lines and Austrian Airlines flights, enables guests to access the new “Culinary Journey” service via the airline app, website or a link in the pre-departure information email, with the appropriate culinary selection automatically provided for each booking.
Whether flying on a single airline or connecting across different airlines within the Group, travellers can select meals and drinks for the entire journey including connecting segments.
According to Caroline Drischel, Senior Vice President Customer Journey for the Group,
“For the first time, customers flying with Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines can see all their food and beverage options for their flight at a glance – even on connecting flights with different airlines.”
For long-haul flights, the “Culinary Journey” offers up to nine main-course options including exclusive dishes prepared for users of the new service. On shorter flights, passengers can choose from sandwiches, bowls, salads or cakes in the buy-on-board segment, and benefit from a 10 % exclusive discount via the pre-order.
Pre-ordering also enables better flight-catering planning and therefore helps reduce food surpluses.
For UK travellers, this means less uncertainty about in-flight meals, especially on multi-leg or connecting itineraries, and the opportunity to align their onboard service with their business schedule or dietary preferences. As Paul Baker, Sales Director of Global Travel Management, comments:
