Emirates enhances long-haul business travel with expanded premium economy offering

Emirates is expanding the reach of its latest cabin experience by rolling out Premium Economy and upgraded aircraft to more global destinations across its network.

This news matters to UK-based business travellers because it means greater choice and comfort on long-haul business travel routes, with more cities offering a consistent Premium Economy product that can make long flights more productive and relaxing compared with standard Economy.

The Dubai-based airline has announced a series of aircraft deployments and cabin upgrades that extend the availability of its Premium Economy cabin and deliver a more consistent onboard experience for passengers. As part of this ongoing retrofit programme, Emirates will complete the upgrade of its first high-density, two-class Airbus A380 into a three-class configuration with 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats and 437 Economy Class seats by mid-April.

From 14 April, the first of these upgraded A380s will operate between Dubai and Amman before moving on to Prague from 1 June. By November, Emirates expects all 15 of its two-class A380s to be reconfigured into the new layout.

Additional aircraft deployments from March include a four-class A380 on flights to New York JFK, increasing to daily service from June, and the introduction of Premium Economy on services to Zurich from 1 March, offering more than 1 500 weekly Premium Economy seats to and from the Swiss city. Emirates will also operate retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR aircraft with Premium Economy to Milan from 10 May and to Dublin from 25 October, meaning all 21 weekly flights to Ireland’s capital will then provide the upgraded cabin.

Other upgrades include enhanced Premium Economy services to Ho Chi Minh City from 1 May with more than 600 weekly Premium Economy seats, and future deployments to Hong Kong, Entebbe, Basra and Mauritius.
