Emirates and Air Peace interline agreement improves business travel connectivity between London, Nigeria and West Africa

Emirates and Air Peace have activated an expanded bilateral interline agreement, strengthening air connectivity between West Africa, the UAE and London and making single-ticket, through-checked baggage travel easier for passengers.

For UK-based business travellers, this development is particularly relevant as it enhances access to fast-growing markets across West and Central Africa while improving connections between Nigeria and London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London Stansted, routes that are in consistently high demand for business travel between the UK and the region.

Building on their existing partnership, Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, and Air Peace, West Africa’s largest airline, will now offer frictionless interline journeys on selected routes, allowing passengers of both airlines to travel on a single ticket with baggage checked through to their final destination, delivering greater comfort, efficiency and reliability.

In addition to the 13 Nigerian cities already available to Emirates passengers on Air Peace’s network via Lagos, the enhanced agreement introduces new connections to Banjul in The Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan, as well as Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia via Accra. These additional gateways open up wider access to Emirates’ global network while improving regional connectivity for travellers across Africa.

The agreement also enables Air Peace to link its extensive West and Central African route system into Emirates’ Dubai hub and onward to key international destinations, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London Stansted, as well as Abidjan, Accra and Lagos. With strong demand for travel between Nigeria and the UK, the partnership provides Air Peace passengers with increased flexibility, choice and global reach.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said

“Enhancing our interline partnership with Air Peace allows us to expand our footprint across more of Africa, creating new opportunities for people to fly better with Emirates, while helping international tourists explore more of the region, via Lagos. We remain committed to working with strategic partners such as Air Peace to further strengthen Nigeria’s aviation, tourism and trade sectors.”

Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Peace, said

“This interline agreement with Emirates represents a major step in Air Peace’s strategic vision to connect Africa more efficiently to global markets. By combining our strong regional presence with Emirates’ extensive international network, we are delivering seamless connectivity, improved travel experience, and greater access to key global destinations for African travellers. This partnership further reinforces Air Peace’s role as a critical bridge between Africa and the global aviation ecosystem.”

Emirates currently operates a Boeing 777-300ER on its Dubai to Lagos route, offering a premium experience that includes regionally inspired multi-course menus, a wide range of premium beverages and access to more than 6,500 entertainment channels on ice, its award-winning inflight entertainment system, including Nollywood content. As one of only two airlines offering First Class into Nigeria, Emirates delivers a high-end experience defined by privacy, comfort and service.

Air Peace operates a fleet of more than 50 aircraft, including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s and Embraer aircraft, serving a growing network of domestic, regional and international routes. The airline plays a key role in strengthening intra-African connectivity, supporting trade and tourism, and contributing to economic development across the continent.

Paul Baker, Sales Director of Global Travel Management, said

“For UK-based business travellers, improved connectivity between London, Nigeria and the wider West African region is extremely valuable, particularly when it comes to reducing journey complexity and improving reliability. Interline agreements like this one help make business travel more seamless, efficient and productive for organisations with interests across Africa.”
