Dublin Airport expands Platinum VIP terminal with four new suites for business travellers

Platinum VIP at Dublin Airport has expanded its exclusive terminal with four additional suites, boosting total capacity to ten and increasing its annual guest accommodation by 26,000 to a total of approximately 66,000 passengers.

For UK-based business travellers flying to and from Dublin, this development offers an enhanced option for discretion, comfort and efficiency - whether for high-level meetings, private arrivals, or fast-track departures. With 24/7 access and services including private parking, security screening, and direct chauffeur transfers to aircraft, Platinum VIP represents a seamless and productive alternative to navigating the main terminals.

The expansion also includes the unveiling of the Sean Lemass Room, a high-spec boardroom tailored to the needs of corporate travellers requiring video conferencing and a professional meeting space mid-journey.

Ronan O’Donoghue, General Manager of Platinum VIP, highlighted the importance of the upgrade:

“Our biggest challenge up to now has been managing disappointment. We had to decline booking requests regularly as we book up so fast. The opening of the four new suites upstairs changes this. Given increasing demand from passengers travelling with all airlines, including budget airlines, especially for special occasions like weddings abroad, honeymoons, birthdays and anniversaries, we may need even more.” He added, “During the pandemic, it became clear to me just how indispensable Platinum VIP was for Ireland’s business connectivity. While I’d always appreciated its value to corporate travellers, COVID revealed the extent to which executives relied on us, not just for speed and discretion, but as a functional space to do business. We were fielding urgent requests from CEOs eager to route their board members through our terminal. Thankfully, we were able to meet most of those needs.”

Kenny Jacobs, CEO of daa, added,

“This isn’t just about adding four new suites, it’s about showcasing what the Irish do best. Platinum’s expansion and fit out isn’t just a nod to Ireland’s rich aviation heritage, it reflects our grá for genuinely great hospitality. This year we’re celebrating 85 years of Dublin Airport connecting Ireland with the world, while giving our passengers a really top-class experience that’s pure Irish, through and through.”

The facility is operated by a team of 34 professionals and is celebrated internationally for its award-winning customer service culture. The latest upgrades also enhance catering, with four additional chefs recruited to diversify the gourmet menu available to passengers.

Decorated with 25 rare archival photographs, the new suites pay tribute to Dublin Airport’s 85-year history, featuring iconic visitors such as John F Kennedy, Muhammad Ali, Cary Grant, Princess Grace of Monaco and Pope John Paul II. The design incorporates bespoke Irish furniture and curated art, delivering a refined yet functional experience that reflects Ireland’s aviation legacy.

Paul Baker, Sales Director of Global Travel Management, said:

“The expansion of Platinum VIP at Dublin Airport gives our clients more opportunities to travel in comfort, privacy and control - especially important when every minute and meeting matters. It’s a truly valuable asset for business travellers flying to or from Ireland.”
