British Airways expands business travel options with new St. Louis and Guernsey routes

British Airways has announced the launch of new routes to St. Louis in the United States and Guernsey in the Channel Islands, expanding its network from London Heathrow in April 2026.

For UK-based business travellers, this development strengthens both transatlantic and domestic connectivity, offering more direct options for reaching key commercial centres in the US Midwest as well as improved access to the Channel Islands, with seamless onward connections through Heathrow’s global hub. The addition of these routes is particularly relevant for organisations seeking efficient, time-saving itineraries and greater flexibility when planning business travel.

The new long-haul service to St. Louis will operate four times per week from London Heathrow, beginning on 19 April 2026, providing the only direct air link between the UK and the Missouri city. St. Louis is recognised as a significant business destination, home to multiple Fortune 1000 companies and positioned as a growing hub for international commerce, making it an increasingly attractive market for corporate travel. The route will run throughout the summer season, using Boeing 787 aircraft and offering onward connectivity via Heathrow to Europe, the Middle East, India and beyond.

Alongside this, British Airways will introduce a new daily, year-round service between London Heathrow and Guernsey from April 2026. As the only direct service between Heathrow and the island, the route is designed to enhance connectivity for both business and leisure travellers, with convenient flight timings enabling onward connections to more than 20 destinations across Europe and North America. Flights will be operated using Airbus A319 and A320neo aircraft, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to strengthening regional links within the British Isles.

Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer at British Airways, said:

“We’re pleased to be expanding our route map with the addition of Guernsey, bringing the total number of our Heathrow short-haul network to nearly 100 destinations. As the only direct service between Heathrow and Guernsey, the route will offer conveniently timed connections to more than 20 European destinations, providing greater choice and flexibility for both leisure and business travellers alike.”

The expansion forms part of British Airways’ broader strategy to grow its network and capitalise on Heathrow’s position as a global hub, with new routes supporting both economic links and passenger demand across a range of markets. For business travellers, the introduction of secondary US cities such as St. Louis reflects a wider trend of airlines targeting emerging commercial destinations, offering direct access without the need to route through larger, more congested hubs.

Paul Baker, Sales Director at Global Travel Management, said

“The launch of direct flights to St. Louis alongside enhanced connectivity to Guernsey is a positive step for UK-based business travellers, providing more choice and efficiency when planning trips. Direct access to key regional markets in the US, combined with improved domestic links, allows organisations to optimise travel time and maintain productivity while on the move.”

These new routes highlight continued investment in connectivity from London Heathrow, giving business travellers greater flexibility and supporting more efficient international and regional business travel planning.
