LNER has unveiled new details of its upcoming Class 897 ‘Serenza’ trains, promising more comfortable, higher-capacity and greener journeys on the East Coast Main Line for business travellers in the coming years.

The new tri-mode fleet is designed to support growing demand for rail-based business travel, offering improved seating, onboard technology and accessibility, while strengthening the case for rail as a productive and sustainable option for UK-based travellers.

LNER has unveiled a vibrant new livery on one of its InterCity 225 trains to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the National Railway Museum, celebrating a significant milestone in railway heritage. The locomotive, named ‘National Railway Museum 50 Years 1975-2025’, showcases a colourful ribbon and iconic exhibits like Mallard and Duchess of Hamilton, symbolising the enduring partnership between LNER and the museum, supported by Eversholt Rail.
