IHG and Singapore Airlines partner to enhance SME business travel experience

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Singapore Airlines have announced a new partnership to boost the business travel experience for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by integrating their respective travel programmes, IHG Business Edge and SIA’s HighFlyer.

This collaboration is particularly valuable to UK-based business travellers flying to or through Asia, where Singapore Airlines is a key player and IHG offers a wide range of accommodation options. With SMEs forming the backbone of the British economy, this new partnership provides enhanced value, convenience and recognition for business travel bookings—both in the air and on the ground.

From 1 May 2025, SIA HighFlyer members who enrol in IHG Business Edge will receive an automatic Gold Elite upgrade in the IHG One Rewards scheme following their first qualifying stay. This upgrade unlocks a range of benefits such as guaranteed discounts, late check-out, flexible cancellations and exclusive partner perks across IHG’s extensive global network of hotels and resorts.

Vivek Bhalla, Managing Director, South East Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts said:
“Working with globally renowned partners such as Singapore Airlines is an important part of continuously developing our offer and providing more value across a range of travel segments.
“These strategic partnerships enable us to reach a wider group of travellers, create differentiated experiences and ensure IHG and our brands stand out as the preferred choice. We are delighted to be working alongside Singapore Airlines to support the growing number of SMEs across the region to achieve their business goals and ambitions.”

IHG Business Edge, launched in 2018, is tailored to SMEs seeking simplified hotel booking and travel management, offering a centralised platform with flexible booking options, discounted rates and reward upgrades. Meanwhile, SIA’s HighFlyer corporate rewards programme allows companies to earn points from business travel that can be used to reduce future travel costs or unlock premium travel services including priority boarding, standby upgrades, and bonus reward tiers.

The IHG–Singapore Airlines partnership builds on the successful model established with Virgin Australia and reflects IHG’s continued commitment to delivering premium business travel solutions for growing companies.

Paul Baker, Sales Director of Global Travel Management, commented:
“This partnership between IHG and Singapore Airlines delivers tangible benefits to UK-based business travellers flying to Asia-Pacific destinations. It combines excellent value with rewarding experiences, helping our customers make the most of every business trip.”
