Global Travel Management celebrates success at Business Travel People Awards 2026
Global Travel Management is celebrating success at the Business Travel People Awards 2026 after Marketing Director Mark Wilson was named Marketing Champion and Managing Director Scott Pawley was Highly Commended in the People Manager category.
The recognition capped a successful evening for the independent UK travel management company, which arrived at the awards as a finalist in four categories.
The Business Travel People Awards celebrate individuals and teams working across the business travel industry, recognising the people behind the services, technology and support that keep organisations and their travellers moving.
Marketing Champion award for Mark Wilson
Global Travel Management Marketing Director Mark Wilson was named Marketing Champion, recognising his contribution to the company's marketing and communications.
Global Travel Management's marketing activity has developed considerably over the past year, spanning the company's website, business travel news and advice, video, email marketing, social media and campaigns designed to help businesses better understand and manage their travel.
Recent projects have included the launch of a new Global Travel Management website and brand, the weekly GTM Travel Brief, campaigns targeting specific sectors including UK manufacturing, and the development of content designed to provide practical information for business travellers and the people responsible for managing corporate travel.
Scott Pawley Highly Commended for People Manager
There was further recognition for Global Travel Management when Managing Director Scott Pawley was Highly Commended in the People Manager category.
The recognition reflects Global Travel Management’s continued focus on its people and workplace culture. Earlier in 2026, Global Travel Management won the Performance & Recognition Spotlight Award at the Best Workplaces in Travel 2026, as well as being Highly Commended in the overall small company category.
Global Travel Management was also named Best Workplace in Travel in 2024.
Four finalist places for Global Travel Management
The evening was about more than two individual accolades.
Global Travel Management went into the Business Travel People Awards as a finalist in four categories, with Sales Director Paul Baker also individually shortlisted and the Global Travel Management team recognised among the finalists.
Nine members of the Global Travel Management team attended the ceremony in London.
The four finalist places provided recognition across different areas of the business and reflected the contribution made by colleagues throughout the company.
For Global Travel Management, that matters because delivering effective business travel management ultimately depends on people. Technology can make booking and managing travel easier, but experienced people remain essential when plans change, disruption occurs or a traveller simply needs help.
Celebrating the people behind business travel
The Business Travel People Awards bring together organisations and professionals from across the UK business travel sector, putting the emphasis on the individuals and teams behind the industry.
For Global Travel Management, the 2026 awards provided an opportunity to celebrate both individual achievement and the collective work of the wider GTM team.
Mark Wilson, Marketing Director at Global Travel Management, said:
“Winning Marketing Champion was a wonderful surprise and something I'm incredibly proud of, but what made the evening particularly special was seeing Global Travel Management represented across four different categories.
Marketing can only tell a good story when there is a good story to tell. The recognition for Scott, Paul and the wider GTM team says a great deal about the people I have the privilege of working alongside.”
