American Airlines enhances business travel rewards with new AAdvantage Business Select tier
American Airlines has enhanced its AAdvantage Business programme by introducing a new AAdvantage Business Select™ tier, effective from 21 July, 2025, offering UK-based companies and their business travellers increased rewards and benefits for booking eligible travel.
This development is particularly relevant for Global Travel Management’s customers, as it provides UK-based business travellers with opportunities to earn additional AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points, alongside exclusive savings and enhanced travel perks, making their frequent international and domestic trips more cost-effective and rewarding.
The AAdvantage Business programme allows companies to earn miles on all eligible employee travel booked through aa.com, American’s mobile app, or any agency, such as Global Travel Management, with no cost to join.
Businesses with at least five active registered travellers and a minimum spend of $5,000 can redeem miles for free travel or transfer them to employees, with these requirements waived for Citi / AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard® cardmembers.
The new AAdvantage Business Select™ tier targets companies spending $250,000 or more annually, unlocking benefits such as exclusive savings of up to 4% on eligible fares, Preferred Group 5 boarding for travellers, and immediate access to using company-earned miles for free travel or employee transfers. Companies spending less than $250,000 annually continue to enjoy the existing program benefits, earning 1 AAdvantage mile per £1 spent on eligible travel, with registered travellers accruing additional Loyalty Points to accelerate their path to status.
Lucas Martin, American’s Senior Vice President of Sales, said, “The AAdvantage Business programme was designed to meet small and medium-sized businesses where they are and provide them with a way to make business travel more seamless and valuable. Adding the AAdvantage Business Select™ tier allows us to further enhance the benefits that our most valuable members earn.”
Paul Baker, Sales Director of Global Travel Management, commented,
“This new tier offers our UK clients substantial savings and enhanced travel benefits, ensuring their business travel budgets stretch further while providing a more comfortable and rewarding experience for their employees.”
The programme also provides a suite of tools for reporting, traveller management, and duty of care, streamlining travel coordination for businesses. Companies can enrol for free, and the flexibility to book through Global Travel Management ensures seamless integration with existing travel management processes.
For UK-based business travellers, this means access to a more rewarding travel experience, whether travelling domestically or internationally.
